 | 12:11 am - oops, they did it again ( torchwood )
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert is the best thing that's happened to the internet in an age. Let me sing your praises, baby boy.
Shit, I just spent an hour trying to pick a picture to represent my praises, or whatever, but that's not working. Dumping my whole /aaaadam folder onto scrapbook now... tick tock tick tock. Um, possibly not the best time to do it. No time for tagging. Can't decide, can't decide. Ginger or black? Peacock or conservative? HBIC or awkward teenie? Shoot or stage?
( oops giant )
Moving on. I have one more week to enjoy the great outdoors, then it's back to the city and OMG FAST INTERNETS 4EVA. I don't even care about running water, I just want running data. Current Music: waaaaay doooowwwnnn innnnsiiiddeeee

 | 09:02 am - Appearances This summer, I will be appearing at two events (but only one of them in person)
One:
As Shaenon has pointed out, "The Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco (www.cartoonart.org) is organizing "Monsters of Webcomics," a showcase of cutting-edge webcomics work." Some original art will be on display there for this show from August 8 - December 6, 2009. My original art is small and looks exactly the same on paper as it does when it is posted online, so prepare to have a reaction that is blasé. But then look at the amazing line up of talent they have otherwise and prepare to be amazed!
Two:
Vancouver! Are you going to be in Vancouver on August 23rd? So am I! Robin Bougie posted this one. Pretty cool, I haven't seen the west coast in a while, but I miss the mountains.

| 11:44 am - Sponsors: Macmillan Library @ ALA
http://www.unshelved.com/blog.aspx?post=1445 Our thanks to this week's sponsor, Macmillan Library, hosting no fewer than eleven author signings at ALA. Drop by booth 1713 to say Hi. Mention how adorable Talia's newborn nephew is and she'll give you a free copy of The Birthing Place by Christopher Ransom, while supplies last.

| 11:44 am - Cartooning: Box Brown
http://www.unshelved.com/blog.aspx?post=1444 Today's Unshelved Book Club comes from Box Brown, creator of the sublime Bellen. Box won the 2008 Xeric award for his book Love is a Peculiar Type of Thing. Please take the few minutes necessary to become a huge fan of his work.
This makes three guests in a row for our Sunday strip, which probably deserves some explanation. We are in the process of changing how we sell our books to libraries, book stores, and comic shops (announcement forthcoming). This will be a good thing in the long term, but in the short term Jana and I have been completely consumed by the logistics involved. Add to this a new book and our two biggest conferences of the year scheduled back-to-back, and I for one appreciated the respite provided by my fellow cartoonists.
